December 2015 – News: Stratasys, a worldwide leader in professional 3D printers production, will soon publish a case study on our work on 3D printed anatomical models for surgical planning. Moreover, two of our 3D printed models will be in exposition at the Stratasys stand during all the main expositions across USA and Europe, as an example of successful application of 3D printing to the medical field.

2013 – New research grant: The project “Advanced Fatigue Investigations for Innovative Applications of Shape Memory Alloys” has been funded within the framework of the Galileo Cooperation Program 2013-2014 between Italy and France in conjunction with Prof. Andrei Constantinescu (Laboratoire de Mécanique des Solides – CNRS UMR 7649, Ecole Polytechnique).

2013 – News: The National Institutes of Health, i.e., the US medical research agency, published the first article containing a list of recommendations for papers dealing with applications of the finite element method to biomedical fields. This represents an important step towards the impact of computational methods in the clinical practice. Click here for further information.

2013 – Announcement: We are pleased to announce that our Ph.D. program in “Computational Mechanics and Advanced Materials” is involved in an Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate Program entitled: “Simulation in Engineering and Entrepreneurship Development – SEED”. All the details on the project, and in particular on the open positions are available here.

2011 – Award: We are pleased to announce that Michele Conti‘s contribution, entitled “Impact of carotid stent cell design on vessel scaffolding: A case study comparing experimental investigation and numerical simulations”, has been selected for the Young Researcher Prize session for the 7th European Symposium of Vascular Biomaterials in Strasbourg, France.

November 15, 2010 – PRIN-08 kick-off meeting : On Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Università La Sapienza di Roma, the PRIN-08 project “Shape memory alloy advanced modeling for industrial and biomedical applications” will be kicked-off with a meeting of its local coordinators and participants.
