Our PhD student, Ahmed AISSA BERRAIES, compares the Quasi-Newton QS-LS stabilization method against the Fixed-point method in the partitioned approach for solving a fluid-structure interaction problem with high added mass effect. The Quasi-Newton method shows robustness and superior performance, which allows for solving more complex problems of high non-linearity.

Our CompMech Group member, Ahmed Aissa Berraies, aims to simulate the Fluid-Structure interaction inside a Smart material shape memory alloys microvalve produced by Dolphin Fluidics Srl. He is working, using Computational Fluid Dynamics, on describing the flow behavior before studying the mechanical response.
