The 3DMetal@UniPV Lab was inaugurated at DICAr (Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture) of the University of Pavia on December 6th, 2018.
3DMetal is a new Additive Manufacturing Laboratory, equipped with a powder-bed laser melting metal 3D printer (Renishaw’s AM400, Renishaw®). It aims to print metal components with an innovative design and to carry out research activities on device optimization and additive manufacturing process simulation.
The laboratory is born from the synergy between two manufacturing companies, Fluid-o-Tech and La Marzocco, and the group of Computational Mechanics and Advanced Materials.
The Rector of the University of Pavia, Prof. Fabio Rugge, opened the ceremony, while Dr. Diego Andreis (CEO, Fluid-o-Tech), Dr. Guido Bernardinelli (CEO, La Marzocco), and Prof. Ferdinando Auricchio (DICAr) emphasized the synergy between University of Pavia and the two companies.
The team: Dr. Gianluca Alaimo, Dr. Stefania Marconi, Dr. Simone Morganti and Eng. Alberto Cattenone.
