Eng. Rodrigo Romarowski (PhD), our former PhD student and current collaborator at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, has received the 2nd “La Bioingegneria” Award for his thesis Moving Computational Tools for Aortic Disease From the Bench to the Bedside. The prize is awarded by the National Group of Bioengineering, who selected his thesis among a group of candidates on the topic Models, Signals and Control of biological systems.
Rodrigo’s work has been developed in collaboration with the Vascular Surgery Group at the IRCCS Policlinico San Donato leaded by Prof. Santi Trimarchi and with Prof. Alessandro Veneziani from Emory University. The focus of his work is the application of solid and fluid mechanics model to deal with aortic pathologies tackling both diagnosis and endovascular treatment. The award ceremony took place during the XXXVII Annual School of the National Bioengineering Group in Bressanone.
