Massimo Carraturo is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Pavia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bologna (2012), a Master of Science with Honors in Computational Mechanics from the Technische Universität München (2016), and a Ph.D. in Computational Mechanics and Advanced Materials (2020) obtained as a joint degree (cotutelle) between the University of Pavia and the Technische Universität München.

His research focuses on numerical methods for the simulation of metal laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) additive manufacturing processes, the numerical characterization of the mechanical performance of powder-bed-printed components, and uncertainty quantification for additive manufacturing. Before his current position, he held a fixed-term Assistant Professor position (RTDa) and post-doctoral appointments at the Chair for Computational Mechanics and Advanced Materials of the University of Pavia.

He has authored 22 journal articles and 3 book chapters, with an h-index of 16 and over 830 citations (Scopus).
