CompMech was there to celebrate 30 years of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions! 🇪🇺🔬
On 1 October, the European Commission celebrated the 30th anniversary of the MSCA with the high-level event “Curiosity that changes the world”, bringing together policymakers, Nobel laureates, leading researchers and young scientists to reflect on the future of European research and innovation.
CompMech was represented by Gabriele Greco, invited as a panellist for the discussion “Catalysts of change – how Europe can support young researchers in driving industry innovation”.
Moderated by Prof. Kurt Deketelaere, Secretary-General of LERU, the panel brought together Dr Janusz Lewandowski, Member of the European Parliament, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Budgets and former European Commissioner; Prof. Regina Valutytė, Vice-Minister of Science and Studies of Lithuania; Dr Jan Goetz, Co-founder and CEO of IQM Quantum Computers; and Gabriele Greco from the @University of Pavia.
The discussion addressed a crucial challenge for the future of European research: how can Europe create the conditions for young researchers to turn scientific excellence into innovation, while building sustainable and attractive research careers?
For CompMech, taking part in this celebration was particularly meaningful. The MSCA has supported more than 150,000 researchers over its 30-year history, fostering international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral mobility and creating connections between research, society and industry.
A great opportunity to contribute to the conversation on what comes next — and on how Europe can empower the next generation of researchers to become true catalysts of change.
Happy 30th anniversary, MSCA! 🎂🇪🇺
