2023 GNB PhD Award to Franca Scocozza

We are pleased to announce that our CompMech member, Dr. Franca Scocozza, has received the 2023 GNB PhD Award funded by “Institute of Biorobotics – Scuola Superiore S.Anna” with the thesis entitled “Design and assessment of a 3D bio-printed hybrid scaffold for bone tissue engineering” – Advisor: Prof. Michele Conti; co-advisor: Prof. F.Auricchio, and Prof. Marina Torre.

The thesis proposes the use of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools for the design, manufacturing, and assessment of 3D bio-printed hybrid scaffold (thermopolymers plus bioinks) for bone tissue regeneration and is grounded on the ongoing collaboration between the CompMech Group – Pavia University, the University of Piemonte Orientale (Prof.  Marina Torre, Dr. Elia Bari), the Department of Drug Science of Pavia University (Dr. Sara Perteghella).
